Toronto, Ontario, Canada
In collaboration with a co-don, I developed and delivered educational and social programming for 63 undergraduate students in residence to enhance the students’ own academic and personal growth and build a sense community.
I spearheaded a new research project on the molecular basis of ALECT2 amyloidosis, a newly discovered form of amyloidosis caused by the accumulation of the LECT2 protein in various organs. I successfully expressed, purified, refolded LECT2 to characterize its folding and identified a misfolded intermediate.

I analysed previously obtained data from molecular dynamics simulation of the CFTR membrane protein with the Pomes Group. The project's aim was to reveal insight of the underlying biochemical mechanism involved in cystic fibrosis.
Toronto, Canada Area
At the Gariepy Lab, I assisted in the ongoing development of a new technique to identify weak protein-protein interaction on mammalian cell surfaces using biotin ligase conjugates.
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
I designed and executed experiments and applied bioinformatics tools to estimate ancestor sequences by evaluating the phylogenetic relationship between the amino acid sequences of acetylcholine receptor subunits. I successfully transfected receptor DNA into mammalian cells for transient protein expression before probing function using automated patch clamp.
