About Jethro Sercombe
Jethro Sercombe holds a unique combination of Human Centred Design practice with 20 years of social services leadership. He has a passion for the way society treats its most vulnerable citizens, and the potential for innovative services and adaptive systems to respond to complex health and social issues. He leads work focusing on partnership with nonprofits and governments to see how systems might be transformed by focusing deeply on the experience of the people who are most impacted by them.Jethro is the Director of Innovation Practice at Innovation Unit Australia New Zealand, and drives the organisation’s capability in robust design method, and the facilitation of inclusive and engaging, trauma informed co-design processes in complex spaces. Since then, he has utilised the power of service design across areas such as Mental Health, Homelessness, Financial Resilience, Family Violence and the State Care System. In 2013, Jethro was named one of Business News’ 40 under 40, and in 2019 was awarded a Westpac Social Change Fellowship for his work in social innovation.
