Architected and built features for Uber Works, which connects businesses to workers and workers to opportunities. Worked on the mobile app and internal ops web app, and was the lead engineer on analytics capture.- Launched a version of the scheduler system that sharded on types of tasks, reducing load on any single instance. Allowed the business to scale and support 50x the previous load.- Led the design of and built a tool that allows the operations team to pay workers’ cash incentives via integrating with vendors’ payment API, reducing the workflow to take a few seconds instead of days.- Implemented push notifications that increased workers engagement with the app (to record timesheet data), reducing time that ops spend on correcting timesheets times by 30%.- Introduced ETL diffing mechanism that synced analytics data tables in a few seconds instead of 25min+, additionally leading to a decreased cost expenditure on database operations from $1240/mo to $280/mo, a reduction of 78%.- Migrated a core legacy architecture to a scalable model allowing for a 20% load reduction on scheduler, and speeding up related feature development (for example, a task that would take 2 weeks is reduced to 1 week). Built systems to drive customer acquisition for Drift’s web chatbot, leading to $700k+ revenue in 2018 and $91k/MRR revenue impact per engineer. The systems detected incoming signals of buyer intent (to purchase Drift) and automated outreach. Projects I’ve designed and built contributing to revenue:- System that searched for potential customers amongst company-authored LinkedIn posts.- Automated LinkedIn messaging, outbound to potential leads on behalf of Drift’s sales reps.- Webhook to ingest real-time install/uninstall events of competitors’ tools from scraped websites.- System to detect accounts approaching renewal of competitors’ tools, who could then consider Drift as a vendor.(Java, SQL, Javascript, Python, React/Redux, API, MySQL, Kibana, AWS, Segment, Amplitude)

- Executed on issues around Wayfair’s internal warehousing web apps such as returns processing, shipping, carrierselection, shipping labels, inventory management, which handles over 12 million orders annually.- Migrated 9 high-traffic web tools from one internal domain to another, reducing load by 50% on the main service.- Pioneered the tools’ migrations process for other teams, including deploy and post-deploy monitoring techniques.(PHP, SQL, React, Tungsten.js, Javascript, API, MVC, Kibana, MSSMS)

Start-up I contributed to during off-hours after my full-time role.• Launched the “join party/find a group” feature for web app, a main feature for the product. • Designed and built internal admin portal for efficiently managing company resources and data.(Javascript, Angular 2 with Typescript, Bitbucket, JIRA)

• Developed desktop and web applications for internal clients and 4 external clients. Includes responsibilities on up to 3 projects simultaneously such as presenting demos to clients.• Completed weekly software builds for QA and production for 1 flagship product.

• Created desktop application that ran 13 tests on wireless sensors crucial to quality assurance.• Developed data plotting application that integrated with existing and new applications for sensors.• Designed web service to push data from applications to an online database.• Extended website to retrieve, compute statistics, and display 5000+ sensor test records to provide data access to vendors and internal departments.• Converted existing layout of the website to a master page template to increase scalability.• Modeled SQL database for storing sensor test records.• Reduced time to load webpage with lists of sensors by 75%.• Tested and verified reoccurrences of 66 resolved bugs to prep for software’s latest release.
