The Spur Change program is a 6-year national initiative, funded by Global Affairs Canada, aiming to increase the effectiveness of Canadian small and medium organizations (SMOs) to deliver sustainable results in support of the Feminist International Assistance Policy and the Sustainable Development Goals. The national program is managed by the Alberta Council for Global Cooperation (ACGC) on behalf of the Inter-Council Network of Regional and Provincial Councils for International Cooperation (ICN),which is a national coalition of 8 Councils representing more than 350 diverse civil society organizations (CSOs) from across Canada.As the Director, I am responsible to - lead a team to develop and implement all activities of the Spur Change program supporting SMOs- provide strategic guidance and oversight- financial management- build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the program- manage donor relations & oversee the production of required reporting

Directly reporting to the President and first holding this position, I established the Association Unit fostering a strong, well-informed membership community equipped to provide strategic direction to the organization and to contribute to making a positive change. • Recruited, trained, coached and managed a new team of 4 staff and 30+ volunteers • Produced the department’s Strategic and Annual Planning including budget provisions and performance measurement frameworks, and monitored progress through KPI tracking, reporting and budget management.• Coordinated administrative and strategic support to the Board of Directors, promoting & strengthening good governance.• Led the work of various Board sub committees and national and international working groups. • Developed and oversaw the implementation of frameworks, strategies, policies, administrative systems, procedures and tools, identifying and collaborating with relevant stakeholders as necessary• Coordinated the organization of the Annual General Meetings and numerous other online and hybrid events, including workshops, conferences, board meetings, training, and networking events.• Created and implemented national and regional membership engagement strategies. • Established and maintained national and international partnerships (ie. I managed the Secretariat and a team of 4 staff, steering a Coalition of 9 Canadian NGOs implementing international ICT internships for young professionals (210 internships/year). • Organized the provision of administrative and operational support to the Coalition partners.• Effectively facilitated the Coalition’s strategic and annual planning sessions. • Fulfilled narrative and financial reporting obligations to Global Affairs on behalf of the Coalition.• Successfully negotiated annual contract renewals of CAD 4.5 M with Industry Canada and Global Affairs Canada.

Implemented an educational project raising awareness of malnutrition and food insecurity problematic on a global scale among hospital staff and students of different Cegeps and Universities throughout Quebec.

Managed a mental health project for displaced people; including day-to-day operations, human resources, finances (budget and bookkeeping), mid-term and final evaluations, strategic direction, negotiations with the Ministry of Health and their regional representatives, lobby and awareness raising, development of data collection tools and education materials, internal and external communications.Responsible for a team of 9 staff.Budget : CAD $ 500,000

Mozambique

Organized and planned all transport of staff, clean water, medical and non-medical supplies in a medical emergency mission (cholera intervention). Hired, briefed and supervised team of 30 drivers.

Responsible for finances and budget control, human resources (more than 250 employees), design and implementation of internal regulations, contracts and administration of a nutritional emergency project.

Colombia

Responsible for logistics and administration of a basic health care project in the conflict zone of Uraba. Led and planned mobile medical brigades of up to a week at a time. Recruited, trained and supervised a team of 7 staff.

El Salvador

Program funded by the European Union aimed at the social-economical reinsertion of more than 3000 families of former military and rebel soldiers.• Contributed to the implementation of gender-sensitive projects aimed at supporting the creation of small business by women and community groups.• Initiated, coordinated, and supervised a Literacy Program for adults in 15 rural communities, in collaboration with community leaders and the Ministry of Education.
