Focused on creating relationships with community members in 7 cities across Northern Minnesota and connected them to a movement to create positive change locally and state-wide. Our work in 2014 resulted in the passage of a comprehensive anti-bullying bill through the state legislature, a state policy to support transgender athletes in high school, and retaining 11 pro-LGBTQ at-risk state legislators.Crafted community action trainings, LGBTQ 101s, ally trainings, and Safe Schools Bill presentations. Delivered these trainings to community groups and classrooms across Northern Minnesota. Developed the organizing skills of volunteer leaders to run, train, and coach phone banks and canvassing events while helping them overcome fears and recognize their talents and motivation.
