Conflict leads to transformation.I have always found myself propelled into a leadership role by those around me. I never asked for it, but everyone thought it made sense. So much that my elementary school made me a “Conflict Manager.” We were a team of three kids that wore hats and whistles during recess. Our sole purpose was to manage conflict amongst our peers. Who would have thought that I would be doing the same thing today; Managing Conflict. That’s in essence what leaders do.Throughout my life I have been managing conflict. After graduating from DePauw University I sought new beginnings in Chicago. Going home to Michigan wasn’t an option. Change became a constant conflict that made me realize to always be prepared. It was this state of readiness that fueled my desires to excel from a Sales Associate to an Assistant Branch Manager at Hertz. And from a Technician to a Network Operations Manager at AT&T. Addressing the conflicts within me permits an output of generosity to myself and those around me. I make it my mission to allow my daily transformations to set the tone during my work day. Whether it's spearheading new training, promoting employees, coordinating health & safety strategies, turnaround, developing customer relations, cross functional collaboration and reducing costs. These facets that help drive the business steer changes in my own life. Such as playing the piano, studying French, traveling the world, volunteering, book clubs, museums, producing music, exercising and hiking. What conflicts have you resolved today?
