I am a conservation scientist with 15 years of experience in quantitative and field ecology. I have an interdisciplinary background in threatened species research, conservation prioritisation and business-biodiversity risk analysis. I have extensive experience in project conception, development, fundraising, management and implementation in non-governmental, private and academic organisations. My research has involved lengthy field deployments, data collection, data management and analysis focussed particularly on seabird science. I completed my PhD on the recovery of threatened seabirds on Macquarie Island in 2021 following one of the largest multi-species vertebrate eradications to date.

My research utilises existing long-term datasets as well as collecting new field data to track changes in the presence, distribution and abundance of burrow-nesting seabirds, to assess how this seabird community has responded to the eradication of feral vertebrates and their role in the broader ecosystem recovery after decades of feral animal impacts. This research is part of a lager project aimed at the development of an optimal long term monitoring strategy for key threatened species on the island and the island ecosystem as a whole. I am investigating the conservation return on investment of the eradication to inform decision-making strategies around threatened species monitoring and conservation. Show less -
