Responsible for planning and coordinating the installation of all special exhibitions and permanent galleries in the museum. Met regularly with heads of Design, Curatorial, Conservation, Registrar, Security and Facilities departments in Exhibition Planning meetings. Oversaw production of all support materials for exhibitions. Managed staff of twelve employees. This included the supervision of graphics production, gallery lighting, cabinet making, mount making, and gallery painting. Other primary responsibilities included instructing and overseeing staff in the safe handling, installation and transportation of all artwork within the museum. Created project schedules and deadlines for department staff. Responsible for quality control of installations to design specifications. Attended Department Heads meetings. Primary responsibility at meetings was to represent practical time constraints and budget parameters concerning exhibition scheduling and execution.Created and maintained yearly budget. Closely monitored an average annual operating budget of $100,000. Determined inventory and equipment needs. Contacted and hired outside contractors for work outside of museum's scope. Conducted yearly performance evaluations of staff. Established goals and expectations for individual staff members through written and verbal evaluation process. Communicated to staff annual organizational scheduling and expectations. Recommended to Human Resources Department salary, compensation, hiring and termination decisions.Scheduled and managed complete de-installation of art objects in preparation for museum renovation in 2005. Part of planning and coordination team to schedule permanent gallery re-installations as construction phases were completed. Worked in coordination with the Design department on the re-installation of the 1916 building, which opened in Spring of 2008. -
