I am the founder of JF Advanced Technology Solutions LTD, an independent engineering consultancy firm providing technical & strategic support to the; foundry, additive manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive, & related hi-tech industries with particular expertise in advanced aluminium alloy technology for cast and additive applications.My doctorate, undertaken at the University of Birmingham, resulted in the re-engineering & re-patenting of the A20X™ alloy system by Aeromet International Ltd, where I went on to spend the following 9 years as Lead Technologist. This was a unique role with the primary objective of developing the A20X™ alloy system from proof of concept through to full commercial readiness with particular focus on facilitating alloy integration to aerospace, defence and motorsport systems. This broad remit included; cast alloy optimisation, alloy development for additive manufacturing, cast process industrialisation, NPI process optimisation, technical knowledge transfer to licensee foundries, technical knowledge transfer to end users and extensive interaction with industry governing bodies for specification generation and approval.I have a broad skillset with excellent; technical, analytical, reporting, presentation and interpersonal skills and pride myself on having a divergent and meticulous approach to problem solving, working particularly effectively in high pressure environments. With experience ranging from; fundamental alloy development, component design optimisation, liquid metal engineering, foundry future proofing and strategic technical planning, I am equally comfortable interacting at boardroom level, in the engineering office or on the factory floor.
