About Jean-François D'Arcy

Hi, I'm JF! My passion is to use our understanding of human behavior and science to solve real-world problems. I use valid and reliable evidence to inform product development, support organizational decision making, and develop and implement innovative business models.During my B.S. in Psychology, I developed a fascination for human cognition and for how computers could think like humans. My interest for cognition and artificial intelligence (AI) led me to obtain an undergraduate degree in computer science (AI concentration) and to complete my M.S. and Ph.D. in experimental cognitive psychology at the Université de Montréal because they had just launched an interdepartmental studies program in cognitive science and AI.During the first fifteen years of my career, I had the opportunity to design and conduct research in multiple safety-critical domains (e.g. air traffic control, helicopters, fighter jets, nuclear power). During the last ten years, I conducted qualitative and quantitative UX research in the domains of human capital management (payroll and HR-related services) and software testing at two SaaS B2B companies.
