Maintain and post accurate records for services provided and tracking aging on accounts.Verify insurance coverage for appointments and surgery.Perform initial charge review to determine appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes to be used in billing physician services to insurance companies.Evaluate medical records for documentation adequacy. Follow up to ensure all services that can be billed are captured and coded for billing.Verify the appropriate E&M levels are assigned using the correct CPT codes.Obtain complete and accurate demographic and insurance information for each patient.Collect on patient accounts and/or co-payments as indicated, maintain accurate accounting of the petty cash fund daily and adequate change to facilitate payments.Respond to patient inquires with regard to basic insurance or billing questions or provide a referral to appropriate staff member.Submit billing data to the appropriate insurance providers.Process claims and resolve denials.
