Lead full-stack developer of an online mission operations dashboard for the engineering health and status of the SAGE III on ISS instrument. This dashboard, also known as SPOC Utils (SAGE III Payload Operations Center Utilities), orchestrates a combination of JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, Python, and MySQL into providing near real-time access to approximately 7500 defined parameters of the SAGE instrument and presents them as interactive statistical plots with the help of HighCharts's JavaScript library. The tool also offers AI reporting, custom reports, live telemetry displays, sms notifications, browser status messages, and email reports concerning the instrument as well as the servers / network, and other operator facilitating features. The tool has been recognized by NASA numerous times for the immeasurable ongoing cost and time savings benefits it provides to the mission. In 2019, the tool also led to being awarded SSAI’s Chairman’s Innovation Award.In addition to my primary task, I have written Java desktop applications, composed reports, and worked with the L3's product, InControl, a command and control software suite. I have scripted instrument hardware procedures using InControl's proprietary language, JAS. Along the way I've interfaced with ESA, SpaceX, & TAS-I.For reference, the SAGE III sensor assembly consists of pointing and imaging subsystems and a UV/visible spectrometer. The pointing and imaging systems are employed to acquire light from either the Sun or Moon by vertically scanning across the object. The spectrometer uses the CCD to provide continuous spectral coverage between 290 and 1030 nm. SAGE III is able to make multiple measurements of absorption features of target gaseous species and multi-wavelength measurements of broadband extinction by aerosols. These measurements are vital inputs to the global scientific community for improved understanding of climate, climate change, and ozone trends. Show less

The application leverages Tableau to present dashboards for required key visuals such as subject matter scorecards, schedules, risks, burndowns, issues, financials, milestones and more. The application serves this information in a format that is applicable across all participating projects which allows viewers to properly… Show more Lead a team responsible for producing a web based application that tracks project management metrics for existing and new efforts taking place at NASA Langley Research Center. The application leverages Tableau to present dashboards for required key visuals such as subject matter scorecards, schedules, risks, burndowns, issues, financials, milestones and more. The application serves this information in a format that is applicable across all participating projects which allows viewers to properly understand the presented information regardless of which project it pertains to. Prior to this effort much of the now ingested information existed in myriad formats, rarely in structured datasets, and also typically offline.Work on this project is ongoing, at the time of this writing an initial phase has completed which includes 17 dashboards able to present data from 4 distinct NASA projects. The tool is capable of ingesting flat files from these projects and also offers onboarding instructions for pushing new data in automated methods via REST API. A software development lifecycle featuring agile methodologies was used to steer the project’s efforts and have led to the tool being recognized at the conclusion of its first two phases for coming in on time, under budget, and with functionality expanded beyond the original requirements.
