About Jonathan Fisher

Jonathan earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 and performed post-doctoral work in sensory neuroscience at The Rockefeller University. He has led work on neurotechnology, digital biomarkers, and medical devices at the FDA and is the director of the Neurosensory Engineering Lab at New York Medical College. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the Blavatnik Award for Young Scientists, an FDA / Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) Director’s Special Citation Award, the Optical Society of America’s New Focus/Bookham Award, and a Bristol-Myers Squibb Postdoctoral Fellowship in Basic Neurosciences.Jonathan founded Snorkle Labs, which is developing a generative AI powered text-to-visual platform for all of science and medicine. He has been a pioneer in virtual-reality based medical education and led the first live-streamed VR medical neuroanatomy course. He is the founder of Neurovision LLC and is the director of the Neurodome project, which brings real neuroimaging data into immersive environments such as planetaria and VR. He is a frequent museum presenter and is a science festival enthusiast. A pianist by training, he made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2007, presented by Artists International, and has performed widely throughout the U.S. and Europe. One of his favorite performances was a human vs. machine showdown with a player piano.
