Gallery 209 LLC (https://www.gallery209art.com) re-opened in December 2021 in our new location within Artists & Makers Studios, located at 11810 Parklawn Drive, Suite 210, Rockville, MD 20852 Gallery Artist, creating encaustic and mixed media art for exhibition and sale.

Visual artist creating encaustic (fused wax), mixed media, and other artwork for exhibit and for sale primarily in Montgomery Co., Maryland venues. Serves as social media marketing coordinator for Montgomery Art Association. Donates art work to select charity auctions.

Writes and copyedits social media content, web content, fact sheets, reports, and more. Develops customized spreadsheets and other tools to track progress and results.

• Managed 6-person program services team, including IT programming, web design, graphics, and editorial functions. Allocated staff; provided creative, editorial, and communication design support and quality assurance; and tracked, coordinated, and budgeted projects and proposals.• On behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), supported a $300 million state energy-efficient appliance rebate program for 56 unique programs. In all, states paid 1.8 million consumer rebates; annual energy savings resulting from the purchase of rebated products is estimated at 2 trillion Btu. In collaboration with client and staff: - prepared hundreds of fact sheets and success stories and ensured quality of website postings; - tracked program results including web metrics and news stories; - developed client presentations and wrote reports including the final report.

• Managed graphic services and editorial associates supporting the communication design needs of program and proposal teams.• Provided coordination, communication, and reporting support for the U.S. Department of Energy's State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 as described in "Director, Shared Program Services" summary.

• On behalf of DOE EERE, developed content for and managed three ENERGY STAR® campaigns including OPERATION CHANGE-OUT The Military Challenge with the Department of Defense resulting in 880,500 incandescent light bulbs changed out at military housing units in one year. Reached out to military media. Assisted launch and anniversary events with high-level dignitaries. Co-directed PSA.• On behalf of EERE, managed the Recycle My Old Fridge campaign promoting retirement of inefficient refrigerators. Organized a student video challenge, culminating with a public-focused educational event and recycled refrigerator art exhibit at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. • On behalf of EERE, supported the ENERGY STAR Change a Light campaign. Outreached to governors; developed a toolkit with executive order and press release templates and fact sheets; conceptualized booth displays; and staffed four events in a cross-country bus tour. Also facilitated a student video for Education Days during DOE’s 2009 Solar Decathlon.• Obtained partner support, managed, and executed a multi-phase energy-efficiency retrofit for the Maryland Ronald McDonald House, saving a projected $4,000 annually; assisted in production of a ribbon-cutting media event with high-level government leaders.

• Oversaw all aspects of this comprehensive program—established through an executive order of the governor and targeting more than 30,000 state employees in 65 agencies and 900 locations—to improve state government’s environmental performance, enhance efficiency, and save taxpayer money.• Collaborated with state employees to provide employee education, recycling, energy efficiency, green building, environmentally preferable purchasing, and alternative transportation programs.• Developed and executed strategic program priorities with a 12-member leadership taskforce.• Designed and led employee education activities.• Wrote content for and updated website via content management system; managed program listserve.• Created and edited reports for clients, the legislature, and the public.• Assisted in press conference planning, presented at conferences, and did other public speaking.• Wrote proposal requests, evaluated responses, and negotiated contracts.• Created and managed incentive grants supporting innovative pilot efforts within state agencies.• Represented the State for allied organizations, including the inaugural board of the Indiana chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (http://www.usgbc-in.org/history-2002-2006/).
