Led a fully distributed team of 65 engineers managing CDN, external DNS, ingress proxy, inline software load balancers (including virtual F5's), DNS load balancers, proxy-based front-end optimization (FEO), serverless functions / computing, eBPF services, and many ingress proxy security functions across Walmart and all its subsidiaries / markets.Some highlights of my team and I's work include: • Built a home grown CDN with dozens of POPs • Built a platform for load balancing multiple CDN vendors and managing them centrally (Alloy) • Built a platform for building, deploying, managing and chaining eBPF services (L3AF) • Built a cloud agnostic DNS and inline load balancing solution • Architected and executed a move from a single vendor CDN strategy to a multi-vendor CDN strategy which allowed the company to reduce the cost to serve web traffic by over 90%, improve performance, and increase resiliency • Established a culture of ownership, creative problem solving, and follow through for issues regardless of source

Led the Torbit Team post acquisition by Walmart Labs to integrate the technology and products from Torbit into Walmart and its many subsidiaries. Integrated the Torbit Proxy with automated front-end optimization (FEO) and Torbit Insight for Real User Monitoring (RUM) metrics across Walmart and the key other markets. Architected and built new ingress security features to empower the infosec team to better manage bots and other security threats against the website.

Led and executed technical strategy, architecture, and product design, while also leading the engineering organization for Torbit.• Built an HTTP Proxy in Golang for automated front-end optimization (FEO). Torbit Proxy allows you to speed up your website by dynamically serving different content to different users to leverage the latest technology available on their browser, device, or network to make the page look the same, but load and render faster.• Built Torbit Insight, a Real User Measurement (RUM) based performance analytics tool to see the performance of your website from the load times of your sites actual visitors.• Built ODN, or the Optimized Delivery Network, a next generation Content Delivery Network (CDN) that leverages automated FEO for optimal site performance.
