Canada’s largest Korean volunteer based non-profit organisation, MKLCC, is back at it again with their annual showcase: K-Nite 2018 LEGACY. On June 2nd 2018, incredibly talented and famous American youtubers and an immense cast of talented Canadian actors, dancers and musicians will take the stage to get you moving out of your seat, make you fall in love with Korean culture and deepen your understanding of the changes that the, now dubbed, ‘Hallyu’ has undergone through the ages.This year, shedding our previous talent show style, the show takes on a much more professional approach to explore and showcase the various artistic aspects of Korean culture with the first part/half of the show being a full choreographed number that explores the evolution of Korean arts through three historical periods of Korean History (Joseon Era, Modern Times and Hallyu), using special effects, lights, video productions, music and over 50 artists. “K-Nite Legacy: Hallyu Com-On is a step into the future of MKLCC. It is a stage that we have created and seen grow into a true celebration of Korean culture; a rallying point for fans of all and for communities within Montreal to recognize the talent that exists in our city. It successfully promotes and supports Canadian talent to encourage people with hopes and dreams of dancing on a big stage.” explains Shinae, Founder and Executive Director of MKLCC. “Such an example is 1PCE who came in third place at the Kpop World Festival in Changwon, Korea in 2017 and they were our finalists from Montreal representing all of Canada. Whether you’re a fan of K-Pop or not, our format is made to have an organic blend that respects all aspects of Korea from old to new. The fact that artists from all over the world are beginning to notice Canada as significant hub is a testament to our efforts.”
