KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Production Management• Overall management and control of Cape Town workshop.• Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.• Ensuring correct level of staff and contract workers are utilized.• Communication of production overruns, delivery dates etc. to corporate.• Strict quality control enforcement.• ASME implementation and enforcementFinancial Management• Expense and capital budgeting for Cape Town workshop.• Management of operating and capital costs.• Reporting of actual vs. estimate costs of projects to corporate.• Assist engineering department with costing and quotations, specifying materials, and managing labour and material costs.Project Management• Compiling project tenders, including cost calculations, sub-contractor quotations etc.• Transport & operations planning.• Project reporting.Continuous improvement• Evaluate new systems/ equipment to improve efficiency.• Leading lean initiative in Cape Town workshop.HSE Management• Overall responsibility for ensuring adherence to all relevant HSE policies and legislation in the Cape Town workshop.Operations Management• Management of use, maintenance and upkeep of company vehicles (Forklifts, trucks, pick-ups and pool cars).• Management of factory maintenance and security.• Assisting with customer/ product queries.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Engineering Design:• Design of road tankers and related equipment to local and international design standards.• Design of pressure vessels.• Design of PBS road tankers.• Engineering and manufacturing drawings.• Keeping abreast and ensuring product compliance with current design codes and legislation.Customer and Supplier liaison:• Managing quotations; orders and delivery of outsourced parts and equipment.• Compiling customer product data books.Production Management / Supervision:• Up-keep of Health and Safety Regulations.• Supervising overtime production on a rotating schedule.• Design and manufacturing of jigs and equipment.

Consumables & Expenses Management• Ordering production consumables as required, successfully reaching “consumables budget” targets.• Building a close relationship with the maintenance department, and ensuring the good working condition of expensive machinery such as Servert welding robots, laser cutters and bending CNC machines.Quality Management• Working closely with QC department, and managing repairs while keeping to a demanding production schedule.Industrial Relations• HR management of department personnel.• Managing disciplinary procedures alongside HR department.• Identifying training and development opportunities for employees.• Performance evaluation.Continuous Improvement• Designing assembly and welding jigs for high frequency components.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Design & Analysis• Using Creo 4.0 as a CAD package for geometric design, generating manufacturing drawings and assigning work operations.• Using Abaqus 2017 FEA software to further develop designs according to stress analysis, material selection and welding / bolting instructions.BOM Management• Using Creo 4.0 to create 3D models and generate production drawings and work operations. Promoting parts and assemblies using Windchill as PLM software.Design Regulations• Designing of pressure vessels, and road vehicles according to ASME; ADR; AD Merkblatt 2000 and South African Road and Traffic Regulations.

I modified and upgraded an existing CFR engine test bench, at Stellenbosch University, for testing and research on high octane (RON > 100) and oxygenated fuels (volume% > 25).
