Plant EngineerHandi-Foil Aug 2018 - Feb 2023Us• Successfully completed the implementation of upgrading the box bar code printer system at each of our manufacturing lines. This has improved the print quality and print reliability of over 50 manufacturing lines, and has helped reduce the amount of customer complaints due to bad print quality. • Introduced and implemented new stretch wrap robots at the end of our production lines to reduce worker fatigue and improve safety. These robots have also improved worker productivity and efficiency, by doubling the output of pallets wrapped and reducing the number of employees dedicated to wrapping pallets. • Implemented new updates to manufacturing lines by using automatic product feeders to reduce the amount of manual labor required per line. This allowed us to use our labor in other areas, and open more manufacturing lines for production and allowed us to be more efficient.• Worked closely with our customer service department to fix customer and consumer product issues on a timely and efficient matter as needed. • Worked with upper management on improving the layouts of our finished goods pallets. Designed new boxes that fit certain items better, and as result we were able to ship more boxes per pallet, increasing the pallet layout efficiencies. • Coordinated new equipment installation, and equipment transfers between plants for manufacturing lines to start up. Managed and allocated work to our vendors and in house building services personnel to run new airlines, and electricity as needed for manufacturing lines that were relocated. -
Product SupervisorProampac Dec 2017 - Aug 2018Cincinnati, Ohio, Us•Mange daily plant waste metrics to drive down material waste in both press room and plant•Created work instructions for new equipment, new processes and for plant safety when needed. •Managed third shift production and employees for a period of ten months making sure production hit daily target goals and employees used machines safely and efficiently.•Assisted the scheduler in allocating work to machines•Supervise the converting department and allocated work to operators on a daily basis. •Used MDI (Managing for Daily Improvement) to solve short term and long term issues, and also drive down waste and increase our productivity and throughput. -
Manufacturing EngineerProampac Aug 2016 - Dec 2017Cincinnati, Ohio, Us•Work in printing press department to reduce downtime by looking for efficiencies in time studies of employees •Coordinate inventory management of printing cylinders, ink, and raw materials to be ready for quick machine change over •Complete corrective actions to find root causes of defective products and solve customer complaints•Created work instructions for new equipment, new processes and for plant safety when needed. •Coordinated new product trials on machines when needed by the customer or sales. •Designed, ordered, and reviewed new tooling for machines for new product development. •Worked with maintenance to add machine improvements that would increase productivity, and reduce quality issues. -
Metals EngineerCrown Holdings, Inc. Jun 2014 - Apr 2016Yardley, Pa, UsAssisted with new product development, from designing initial parts to create prototype machine of a new innovative can, to assembling the finished prototype to conduct tests before implementing for mass production, resulting in a more efficient way of manufacturing can currently.Designed new tooling for pilot line machines that will allow testing of lower aluminum thickness, this will maximize the productivity of world wide plants, and increase profits by allowing more cans to be created from same weight of material. Traveled to plants in North America and Mexico to conduct large scale trials of new tooling, new can sizes, and to down gauge metal thickness. Gathered statistical data using Minitab and Excel to see areas of improvement and areas of deficiencies. Provided general support to plants in Latin America and Asia Pacific, by assisting tool room managers with inspection tools for tool maintenance, to making engineering drawings for vendors that manufacture production tooling.Tested aluminum cans in research and development laboratories to measure can volume, and material performance per QC standards.Re-designed tooling to fit mounting profiles of newly acquired Mexico plants, by retrofitting old designs to work with new machine tool and die sets.Led meetings and conference calls with Mexico business units for new product development, and upcoming trials with new tooling. Collaborated and organized meetings with company and Alsip site teams consisting of site safety, health and wellness, and Alsip building improvements. -
Manufacturing EngineerArk Technologies Inc Oct 2013 - Jun 2014Designed layout of new acquired building and coordinated the transfer of two manufacturing lines to new facility that will allow for growth of secondary operations and shipping department in the main facility.Improved manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and designing gauges and fixtures for springs to verify good parts and improve sorting methods. Maintained product and company reputation by complying with regulations and improving safety standards; labeling and organizing safety equipment, improving facility layout, and establishing plan of action for emergencies. Monitored the level of our production machines by using Epicor software that monitors activity, productivity and efficiency of manufacturing department.Collaborated with the CFO to improve machine efficiency by collecting data to verify parts and/or machines that are causing waste. Established a training manual and exam for new employees, showing and demonstrating the basics of automotive spring manufacturing. Created and led in person training and meetings for new and existing manufacturing employees on safety, processes, and new product development. Used “5S” philosophies to revamp the stamping department by expediting the flow of production, eliminating mix-up of parts, and reducing waste, as well as improve the flow of Work-In Progress throughout the factory by designating locations.
