Products incorporated WiFi/BLE communication technologies, were IoT industry firsts and won numerous CES innovation awards.Forged industry partnerships with Apple, Texas Instruments and Marvell to access the latest in pre-released WiFi/Bluetooth chipsets and communication protocols resulting in three first to market products and establishing First Alert as a technology company. IoT product line identified as a corporate growth accelerator.Led cross-functional, company-wide transformation from Waterfall to Agile Scrum NPD process (concept to launch). Served as change agent as a member of the Agile Transformation Steering Committee.

Established and guided team that improved fire extinguisher production yields from 65% to over 98% through component and process improvements. Improved supply chain order fulfillment metrics and achieved 30% cost reduction by vertically integrating fire extinguisher product into Mexico manufacturing facility. Led DFMA product improvements for CO alarm product line that resulted in standardized components and best-in-class CO sensing technology that also significantly improved production yields. First Alert's manufacturing facility received Jarden's company-wide Manufacturing Excellence Award for Best Overall Facility in 2012 and 2014.Launched innovative smoke alarm product line using SMT technology that reduced product size by 80%, delighting consumers, and resulting in the Atom Smoke Alarm receiving a 2014 Good Housekeeping VIP Award, 2013 Chicago Innovation Award and 2013 Handy Magazine Innovation Award.Established quantifiable criteria and implemented cross-functional, company-wide strategy prioritizing projects that led to a 3X increase in margin contribution for engineering resources.

Led activities of 17-member engineering team (electrical, firmware and mechanical) that designed smoke, Carbon Monoxide and explosive gas alarms. Responsibilities included managing the budget for the Detection Engineering Department, defining new product development and value engineering projects that aligned with corporate goals and allocated resources to execute these projects, project managing smoke alarm product development activities, and performing the mechanical design for the smoke alarm product line.Led teams to complete over 30 NPD/Value Engineering projects annually, achieving both top and bottom line growth targets. Development teams located at multiple sites in the United States, Canada and China.

Designed smoke alarm and thermostat products using Pro/ENGINEER solid modeling software. Designed full product lines consisting of plastic molded, rubber molded and metal stamped parts from concept to product release.
