The Division consists of 7 closed landfills, 1 active landfill (now in a public/private partnership), and 5 industrial transfer stations (public/private partnership).More recent projects have included the automation of vital services in remote locations of the County through the deployment of a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, as well as providing contract/technical management and oversight services for assessment (geotechnical) and repair of damages incurred to Public Infrastructure during the winter storms of 2017 through FEMA grants.Select Work Experience Includes:• The oversight of consultant contracts and industry specific reports and studies, inclusive of Environmental Monitoring and Corrective Action Plans (EMCAPs), Amended Reports of Waste Discharge (ROWDs), siting element/fate transport studies (i.e. corrective action plan (CAP) scenarios to establish financial assurance for CalRecycle), and conceptual and numeric models based on site WDRs.• The preparation and implementation of a strategic plans and budgets for post closure care and maintenance of the urban and rural landfills.• Providing environmental guidance to prepare elements of JTD / site closure and permit documents, including proposed monitoring networks, and performing hydrologic evaluations of landfill performance (EPA “HELP” model) of preferential pathway modeling with industry software to assess/review proposed liner configurations prepared by County consultants and partners.• Providing litigation support for select projects / county facilities relative to CFR 40 and CEQA regulatory environment.
