In January of 2023 I moved from my role creating content for the Truck & Off-Road group at MotorTrend and into the role of Senior Editor on staff of MotorTrend proper. This role, while largely similar to my previous, pushed the bounds of my comfort zone. Moving away from just covering the truck and SUV beat, I now work in all corners of automotive including cars, performance vehicles, and electric vehicles in addition to the trucks and SUVs that I love.

In December of 2019 the tough decision was made to shutter most of Motor Trend's print publications and Truck Trend was included. Since then, I have remained a part of MotorTrend's Truck & Off-Road group in the role of a senior content creator. My duties included creating compelling automotive content focused on the new pickup and SUV market along with the off-road aftermarket. This included new vehicle reviews, tests, and first looks along with comparison and shootout articles. In addition, I would also plan, facilitate, execute, and write Four Wheeler Magazine's annual SUV and Pickup Truck of the Year testing events.

During my tenure Editor-in-Chief of Truck Trend I was responsible for the planning and execution of the entire array of the content that was published in both the printed magazine and digital properties, as well as with managing our vast social network. I managed a deep pool of freelance writers, commissioning work, editing content, and facilitating payment. In addition to the freelance writers I also managed our in-house Truck Trend staff editors. Along with overseeing each issue as a whole, I also contributed monthly new vehicle review columns, along with tech and adventure stories. I was responsible for the creation of along with the planning and executing a highly successful Pickup Truck of the Year program along with frequent shootout and comparison tests. I continued to shoot cover photos and keep my photography skills sharp shooting tech builds and feature vehicles. I spent a lot of time traveling the country attending auto shows and new vehicle functions where I frequently interact and maintain relationships with industry professionals on both the media and manufacturer teams.

After moving out of the Online Editor role where my responsibilities included having a knowledge of multiple genres, taking on the position of Feature Editor for Diesel Power magazine allowed me to focus my skills. As Feature Editor my responsibilities included writing monthly tech and feature columns as well as coordinating and assisting with the running of our signature event, Diesel Power Challenge. During my time at Diesel Power I was able to utilize my photographic abilities by shooting numerous cover photos both in the field and in a studio environment. My photo skills also aided in production of a yearly calendar and DVD cover art. In addition to writing and shooting I also frequently found myself under the hood wrenching on projects, aiding in mating my lifetime hobby and current career.

Irvine, California

As an Online Editor (Web Producer) for the Truck Group at TEN (formerly Source Interlink Media, and Primedia) I oversaw the editorial content, managed forums and blogs, produced video clips, and grew the social platforms for Four Wheeler, Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road, Off-Road, 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility, and Diesel Power magazines. Along with managing content I also produced original editorial pieces on a regular basis, contributing both online exclusives and to the printed publications.
