Provide reference services to patrons (Judges, Lawyers) using websites such as Westlaw as well as hardcopy materials, Collection development, library remodeling (looking to give the library a more 2024 look) Interview, hire, and train staff members (currently have a team of three), I work with emotional people so I have to have a high empathy level coherent with the situation they are going through. Also in charge of another county law library in Belvidere, Illinois. Going into a position such as this with no legal library experience, I find myself learning something new everyday. Confidence level has skyrocketed!

Provide reference services, assisting students and staff in acquiring information needed to complete projects or assignments. Services include reference interviews and database instruction. Advise students on tools and methods available for finding information. Solidify the image of the library by being sure that all requirements are being met, such as patron behavior and cleanliness

Provide reference services related to military history, including genealogical reference for patrons looking for information about family members who were military members. This includes searching for information about medals, badges, firearms, and battalions. Also tend to ILL requests and give library tours. I was privileged with the opportunity to provide an online library introduction to the Illinois State Genealogical Society, after which I was contacted by the Wabash Valley Genealogy Society to provide another introduction to the library. I was also able to resurrect the library Book Club, this included coming up with themes for each quarter of the year and reaching out to possible attendees.

Provided reference services and database instruction to medical professionals. Worked with physicians and nurses to develop a centralized journals acquisitions list. Negotiated departmental contracts for online medical journal and database access with Elsevier and EBSCO, as well as individual publishers. Gave medical students introductory presentations explaining the librarian role and the services provided by the library.

Provide online English lessons to students for business communication, personal communication, and international travel. Assess student performance and skill level through testing and monitoring. Test preparation assistance. Design lesson plans based on student ability level and goals. Provide trial lessons for student recruitment. Advise students on tools and methods available to improve their language ability level outside of class.

Reference assistance and instruction for engineers worldwide based on engineering field (Oil, Electric, Water, etc.).Collaborated with our main publications' vendor, Information Handling Services, as well as individual publishers, negotiating online standards contracts for both publisher collections and individual documents based on engineering field, location, and requirements.Maintained publisher-based library system database of e-standards ensuring up to date patron and document information. Cross-referenced database subscribers list and employee directory monthly and removed subscribers no longer with the company from the subscribed list leading to beneficial acquisitions decisions.Created a SharePoint site for CSA Certification Notices and Technical Information Letters, giving easier access to documents. Transferred CSA e-documents as well as hardcopy, some going back more than ten years, to SharePoint and created a permissions list based on department and individual engineer.

Serials indexer and Circulation Manager. Interviewed, trained, and supervised a ten student team for the circulation desk. Created keyword index for the online catalog using medical journal articles. Journal acquisitions and subscriptions. Reference services. Instructed and advised students on research techniques and the use of medical databases. Staff motivation and coaching.

Was the evening Stacks Management Supervisor in charge of supervising, interviewing, hiring, and assessing performance of student workers. This included training in collection maintenance skills such as shelving, shelf-reading and weeding, Advised student employees by teaching methods to make their work easier and more smooth flowing.
