    Technical lead for the IBM Global Account Sales team responsible for the overall technical relationship between VMware and IBM. Acting as pre-sales as well as post-sales technical advisor for current and future adoption of all VMware technologies. This included managing and orchestrating an extended team of around 45 other technical resources dedicated to IBM. Responsible for managing and coordinating technical and product resources for VMware users within IBM globally. These functions ultimately serve to meet a sales number and grow and close VMware’s largest strategic deals. IBM Cloud initiative was the primary focus for '16 & '17. This included all aspects of going to market with a cloud offering utilizing VMware technology hosted by IBM with 200% YoY growth. The release brought the ability to launch into a public and hybrid cloud in an automated fashion. I was responsible for all aspects of the technical relationship between VMware, IBM & the IBM global account team. This entailed a variety of responsibilities, with the main role being to utilize my technical and business knowledge of the VMware portfolio to enable IBM as a customer as well as partner with relevant information, business value and GTM strategy using VMware technologies and best practices. IBM is a showcase partner in our Cloud Provider Program (VCPP) which utilizes the 'as a service' model for VMware software on a monthly-usage basis. Going to market with a service provider offering included working closely with engineering, product mgmt, product mktg, branding, bus. dev., licensing and many other aspects of the business within both IBM and VMware. I was also responsible for evangelizing & educating the field on the IBM Cloud story through several means such as Tech Summit, Global TechX, VMworld, IBM Interconnect, Tech Fridays, etc.

    VMware has an amazing program called Take3 where after 5 years you are able to serve 3 months in a different department or position to learn about the role, department or business unit. It can be something along your current career trajectory or completely new. I took a Take3 in the Office of the CTO as a Chief Technologist in training where I shadowed our CTOs and CTs. CTOs and CTs are in the field communicating with customers, partners and analysts delivering our corporate vision and technology strategy at a high level as well as in depth. A vast array of responsibilities across product Business Units, corporate departments as well as with E-staff drive our product directions and communication. I was responsible for uplifting our BU interlock process which aligns R&D with the field and our customers in order to provide strategic feedback and actionable recommendations that influence investments based on customers’ future direction. This process involves the orchestration of our Office of the CTO field teams with our product teams at all levels. Although the Take3 is over I will continue to stay involved in the evolution of this process.
