System Administrator
CentralSquare Technologies is in a moderately unique position to provide public sector software to manage local government sources. Not only do I have to know the technology side, but also the federal and state regulations surrounding access to criminal justice information. I partnered with clients to build strategies for troubleshooting and improving Windows and SQL Server performance as it pertains to their interaction with CentralSquare Technologies' application including maintenance plans and replication configurations on virtual and physical servers. Not only did I engage in real-time troubleshooting from LabCorp employees and clients, but I also authored technical documentation that was used by the service desk as a reference for supporting clients and training users. Additionally, every single new hire that came through the department was under my wing. I trained, coached, and mentored them to shorten the learning curve and prepare them for client-facing issues management.

I converted my contract position into a permanent position with Sealy Inc. answering calls from employees about issues they are experiencing with their computers. This included troubleshooting hardware and software. Our users had primarily IBM laptops and desktops for their hardware that they use. Software that they use included Windows 2000- XP, Novell, Active Directory, Lotus Notes 6.5.3, Ghost, MS Office XP-2003, Adobe, AutoCAD, HEAT, MS Net Meeting, Ipass, Lawson, ISeries, Spyware Removal Software, and Symantec Antivirus. Users also made use of wired and wireless technology to connect to networks to get to the internet and our VPN. I handled routing purchase requests for IT equipment for the whole company. It was also my job to administer the Planetwatch/Planet Press servers that were used as our print server for the company's production printers. Our group administered our Active Directory accounts, Manbase accounts on the AS400 servers and the Tivoli Storage Manager system for backing up data.
Helpdesk Supervisor
Primarily managed a team of three other technicians who manned the phones and performed helpdesk duties. Dispatched techs as necessary to deskside support throughout campus. Managed inventory for computer and audiovisual equipment. Manned phones as needed for overflow calls. Tested software and hardware on student/faculty systems including Mac, PC, and A/V systems. Windows 98SE-XP, Office 97-2003, Lotus Notes, Adobe Photoshop and IMovies were the commonly supported programs on campus. Using MS Access, created the first usable database on campus instrumental in replacing an antiquated system for checking out equipment and keeping track of accounts receivable.
