Business Unit Leader.

Support, train, and assist Alston's Field Operations, Project Management and Operations Management team to help drive successful completion of quality projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to attain or exceed profit goals, while promoting and enhancing client relationships.

Responsible for assisting in the general operation by the daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of all projects for the Atlanta Business Unit. Includes the mentoring, development, and training of the Operations (project management and field supervision) staff with the overall goal of ensuring the business unit’s operations are effective, comply with company policies and procedures, adhere to industry best practices, and are profitable. Serve as the qualifying agent for Alston Construction holding a Florida General Contractors License.

Responsible for managing and coordinating projects and project teams from early design, through construction and for mentoring/growing team members within the organization. Specifically, guide and direct teams from managing the design, developing the project schedule and performing value engineering analysis’ and constructability reviews to developing sub-contractor bid packages and procuring all subcontracts and materials for the project in a timely manner. Partner with project superintendents to execute the construction activities onsite and develop weekly and monthly reports that communicate and document the status of the project.

Had overall responsibility for the successful execution of all phases of the project including cost control, value engineering, subcontractor selection, contract negotiation, scheduling and project delivery. Projects ranging in size from $100k renovations to $37MM high-rise luxury condominiums. Multiple delivery systems including general contractor, construction manager and design-build, in both hard bid and negotiated settings.

Worked closely with Sr. Project Managers towards the successful completion of various projects.

Prepared cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects ranging in size from $1MM to $59MM. Prepared budgets based on schematic, design development and final construction documents.

Worked within the Preconstruction Department on hard bid and negotiated projects for both public and private owners.
