Be the Business is a not for profit established to spearhead a business-led drive to help companies across the UK improve their performance. Launched in November 2017 with funding and support from the UK government and some of Britain’s leading companies, Be the Business works with the entire business community to share what works for today’s best businesses with every company that wants to learn and improve.As Head of Communications, my key responsibilities include:- Line managing communications and marketing colleagues to support the delivery of organisational objectives- Leading on multi-channel campaigns including management of associated budgets, agencies and suppliers- Devising agenda-setting thought leadership that enhances Be the Business's reputation among stakeholder/political/media audiences- Developing a marketing strategy which engages small business leaders and acquires participants for programmes designed to support small businesses.- Overseeing earned and paid social media activity for all aspects of the organisation- Building relationships with key stakeholders including government (No.10 and BEIS), media, and corporate partners.

IPSE is the UK's leading membership organisation for freelancers and the self-employed.As Head of Press and PR my responsibilities included:- Setting the external communications strategy for the organisation- Managing a team of three to ensure the organisation's media strategy is fulfilled and goals were met- Editing IPSE Magazine which reaches an audience of 40,000 freelancers per issue- Representing IPSE in national broadcast and print interviews- Speaking on behalf of IPSE at high level meetings and conferences- Maintaining relationships with media outlets, government departments and other key stakeholders- Commissioning multimedia content that showcased the organisation

The Federation of Small Businesses is the UK's leading organisation representing the interests of small businesses.As Senior Press Officer, my responsibilities included:- Driving the news agenda with FSB policy work and research by writing press releases, blog posts and comments.- Arranging print and broadcast interviews and briefing senior colleagues - Sourcing case studies that illustrate the issues faced by small businesses in the UK- Producing multimedia content for the FSB’s website and social media channels- Working alongside FSB internal communications team to provide content for the FSB website and intranet- Responding to media queries, including out of hours work
