Over a decade ago, I embarked on a journey as a social change communicator to uncover the power of storytelling in driving system change. Recognizing the pivotal role narrative plays in shaping perspectives, I combined my formal studies in creative writing and literature with my professional training in public interest communication, social marketing, and behavior change. Throughout my career, I've been deeply committed to leveraging storytelling as a catalyst for social change and health advocacy. From championing issues of public safety and racial equity to advocating for mental health awareness and universal health coverage, I've embraced the complexity of these challenges, harnessing narrative as a tool to envision solutions and inspire action.In 2018, I took my passion for storytelling to the next level by founding Odd Duck, a boutique creative communication consultancy dedicated to crafting compelling narratives and developing impactful content. At Odd Duck, we specialize in weaving stories that resonate, driving engagement, and igniting conversations around critical issues.One of the highlights of my career was co-writing Interrupting Violence with Cobe Williams, published by Rowman & Littlefield. The book, part memoir, part polemic, follows Cobe as he undertakes his redemption journey, offering new hope for the nation’s most violent communities. Cobe’s story demonstrates how the country can resolve the issues plaguing our inner cities, taking readers into an often misunderstood and misrepresented issue in America. I am also driven to explore new ways to tell stories through technology and other mediums.
