My biggest strengths are being able to manage and take civil and structural engineering projects forward to deliver engineering solutions on time, on budget, and with complete client satisfaction. Some of my professional gratifications and personal growth come from succeeding at challenging engineering projects and mentoring highly motivated teams.Having won the Fulbright scholarship to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Notre Dame in 2010 not only allowed me to value the US culture but also to develop unique capabilities of self-motivation, perseverance, and resilience. These invaluable capabilities have helped me outperform in different professional and academic environments. Then, during my PhD, my research focused on the dynamic behavior and functionality of complex systems through the combination of fragility analysis and high-tech simulations. This investigation aimed to better understand the relationship between structural and nonstructural components in traditional, and seismically isolated complex buildings during strong earthquake motions. I am fortunate to have experienced several professional and academic achievements, like being the structural engineer in charge of the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport project in Guayaquil, EC; being selected as the only point of contact between the South-Korean company SKEC and the EPC multinational company SANTOS CMI; being promoted as Regional Civil and Architecture Leader at the POSCO-SANTOS multinational company; being granted the Faculty Development FULBRIGHT scholarship, ANID scholarship, among others. In my leisure time, I enjoy outdoor activities like running, hiking, visiting parks, and walking. I also like to participate in volunteering activities at any time of the year.
