I am the on-site Social Media Manager for PAX East, West, and Unplugged (and from 2016-2020, PAX South), responsible for running the @PAX and @PAX_Lines Twitter accounts. During the setup and execution of these 3-4 day events, I use Twitter to communicate with attendees about the show and answer questions that are asked. I spend time prior to each show coordinating with show management and preparing for the event by anticipating popular panels, FAQs for the show, and authoring tweets to be scheduled ahead of time.During the setup for each show I coordinate with the managers of multiple departments to establish channels of communication in order to receive updates on time-sensitive information that needs to be broadcast to attendees. Throughout the show I also work on promoting other areas of interest to each show, driving both in-person attendance as well as online engagement.
  • Microsoft
    Program Manager 2
    Microsoft Feb 2014 - Nov 2016
    Redmond, Washington, Us
For the Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Creators Update, I worked in the Windows and Devices Group on the Smart Connected Peripherals team as a PM owning the AllJoyn, OCF/IoTivity, and Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network protocols as well as the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) on top of USB and IP. My focus was on being able to interact with a wide range of devices from Windows-based platforms (including PC, Xbox, HoloLens, phones, and IoT devices) and enabling new scenarios in discovery, connection, and management.I also worked on the Peripheral Discovery team for the RTM release of Windows 10 where I had a specific focus on printers and media devices. In addition to UPnP, I owned the Web Services for Devices (WSD) stack in Windows, and regularly partnered with our internal print team to work on building cross-team scenarios surrounding printer discovery.
  • Microsoft
    Program Manager
    Microsoft Jul 2009 - Feb 2014
    Redmond, Washington, Us
In Windows 8 and 8.1, I worked on three teams covering a variety of spaces. For Windows 8.1 I was on the Device Connectivity team and focused on Bluetooth as well as the Web Services for Devices (WSD) network protocol used for discovering and communicating with printers. The main goals of my team for this release were to continue building on the investments made in Windows 8 by making communication more reliable and use less power on portable systems.I interacted to a great extent with our external Bluetooth partners including IHVs and the Bluetooth SIG in order to drive up the quality of Bluetooth in Windows and the ecosystem as a whole. I also partnered closely with our internal printing team in order for network printers to function properly over Wi-Fi Direct connections. In Windows 8 I worked on the File Explorer team that was responsible for designing the new UI of File Explorer (formerly Windows Explorer) by adding the ribbon as well as creating the new copy engine user experience. The goal of these changes were to cater to the enthusiast crowd by exposing more commands in a discoverable/user-friendly way in Explorer and providing a greater amount of detail while condensing the UI during file copy operations.I coordinated with our research and design team to iterate on UI mockups, participated in user research studies to refine our designs, and coordinated our team's telemetry efforts so that we could quantitatively measure interactions with our product and make adjustments as necessary.Additionally, I was on an internal tools team in the Windows division working on WinIDE, a customized version of Visual Studio that allowed internal developers and testers to use VS 2010 with our source control and code review systems. Partner teams that owned the debugger, code analysis, and search functionality also plugged into WinIDE to create a single tool that engineers would need to interact with on a day to day basis.
