Skirack was founded by my Uncle John and his friends from UVM in 1969. A group of ski bums eager to get outside and spread joy for exploring the outdoors while supporting their ability to do so created the foundation of a now 50+ year old company in downtown Burlington. Skirack has been a tremendous part of my life since my parents took over the company in the early 1990's. From running around as a child hiding in clothing racks, to working the sales floor and moving merchandise, bikes, skis, and boards, 85 Main Street is home.In 2006 I moved to Fairfax, VA to study Integrative Studies with various concentrations in International & Sustainable studies at George Mason University. There, I connected with DREAM in 2008 and spent six months volunteering building a school and working with children in the Dominican Republic. When I returned in 2009, I spent much of my time consumed by international studies, particularly with conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and community development. Eventually, I went abroad again to the Philippines with my Integrative Studies class. After graduating from George Mason University in 2011, I returned to Burlington and helped Skirack open Patagonia Burlington. Patagonia has been a longtime and key partner of Skirack's for over 30 years. Patagonia Burlington is one of very few locally owned Patagonia shops in the globe, and one I am incredibly proud to lead. I was the Manager of the shop until 2018 when my long days and many years of service on the floor lead to a Co-Owner position of Ski Rack, Inc.As Co-Owner and the operational leader of the company, I am involved in almost every aspect of our business focused on strategic planning, team management, talent development, sales development, change management, strategic partnerships, and marketing.
