Senior Research Computer Scientist in the Human Language Technologies (HLT) Group, part of the Human Effectiveness Directorate (711HPW/RH) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).With over 25 years of experience in a USG scientific organization, my research focuses on the intersection of vision and human language and how recent developments can be adapted and applied to Warfighter challenges, especially in human-machine teaming settings.Core competencies include research and adaptation of generative AI techniques including models employing the transformer architecture (such as ChatGPT and similar text-based models) and computer vision techniques used to provide context to natural language processing (NLP) tasks such as multimodal machine translation, visual question answering and information extraction.
