Extensive involvement with design, testing, training and implementation of the firm’s proprietary conflict check and matter opening system Secondment to Hong Kong for 11 months to establish a local conflicts department. Responsibilities included interviewing, training, and evaluating five local analysts; creating a comprehensive procedure manual; planning and implementing an electronic conflicts check procedure to be used in all Asian offices, including training and post-implementation supportEvaluate conflict requests for completeness and proper party identification Ensure adherence to search procedure, conflicts rules and firm business relationship protocolCorrespond daily with billing attorneys and conflicts partners for additional information and search requirements Develop unique matter opening procedures to comply with practice group requirements and client family representation instructionsRate, assign and manage work performed by conflict specialists according to priorityAnswer requests by firm-wide hotline and email from both attorneys and secretaries regarding conflict of interest requestsResearch and prepare conflict of interest reports for proposed new matters, matter revisions, and matter reopens as needed by billing attorneys
