- Managed team responsible for the Macintosh version of the Opera web browser. Transformed the product into a success with release of Opera 7.5. Mentored and recruited staff, managed the product, created consensus for moving the product forward in cross-disciplinary fast-paced environment. Member of engineering management group sharing responsibility for company-wide strategic decisions.- Led project for integration of Opera rendering engine into Adobe products on Windows and Macintosh platforms.- Led project for integration of Opera rendering engine into various Macromedia products, most notably Contribute. Extensive localization work for the Japanese market.- Coordinated project deliverables for many customers including Apple Computer Asia. - Co-developed, together with Macromedia, public API and architecture for embedding Opera rendering engine into third party products on the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

- Led corporate research project porting a marine dynamic positioning system to a different hardware platform. The system employs many components and is real-time, safety-critical, and redundant.- Re-wrote robot programming application to be separate COM components with a shared Windows UI.- Integrated Bluetooth wireless links to industrial controllers and other devices.- Ported embedded industrial automation controller software from PPC hardware and pSOS operating system to an ARM7 based ASIC running the VxWorks operating system.- Wrote software for an embedded real-time, safety critical, redundant component in an ATP (Automatic Train Protection) system. Programmed in C++ using the VxWorks OS on a Motorola 68060 processor.- Wrote software on a power plant engineering application based on C++, Java, and Oracle RDBMS under Windows NT using the Metahpase PDM environment.

Taught the "PROG38" course which covers data structures and algorithm analysis in C++. (The course was taught in Norwegian and in addition to full-time employment at ABB.) Textbook: Data Structures & Algorithm Analysis in C++

- Responsible for support and development of industrial maintenance application with approximately ten active customers in Scandinavia, Europe and Africa. Some details:--->User-interface localized into four different languages. --->Runs under several different OS's from the same codebase. --->Completed conversion from terminal based to Windows GUI client interface.--->Started project for conversion from filesystem to Oracle relational database, and year 2000 compliance.- Oracle dba and administrator for Unix servers.- Part of a team which converted Statoil's industrial maintenance application from VAX/RMS to HP-UX/Oracle. Application is written in PowerHouse 4GL and consists of approximately 700 screens, 150 reports and a 370 table Oracle database. When the system went into production it had 8000 defined users and an average of 600 concurrent users.

- Maintenance, system analysis, and design of three PowerHouse 4GL VAX/VMS applications: --->Parking ticket system consisting of hand-held parking ticket computers, and the corresponding vehicle follow-up and billing system. --->Student information system for housing, meal plans, activities and events. Accounting and auditing system. --->Directly responsible for maintaining the computers, printers, networks and software for 15 people, as well as regularly supporting about 25 other staff members.- Award: Recipient of the Auxiliary Services Meritorious Service Employee Award for 4 years.
