I have over 17 years of experience in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry. I have worked in a range of scientific roles which gave me a large amount of experience working within geographically dispersed teams and with customers in Asia, Europe and the Americas. In 2012, I started studying an MBA part-time which allowed me to transition from a lab-focused role into a business-focused role. I completed a PhD in chemistry in 2008 and I expect to complete my MBA in summer 2015.I completed a BSc(hons) in chemistry with chemical engineering in 2005, studying part-time whilst working at Ciba SC. During this time, I won the Ross Thomson award for physical chemistry and came in second place in the 2004 student of the year award at Ciba SC. I then went on to study a PhD at the University of Manchester in chemistry from 2005-2008 sponsored by Avecia and then Fujifilm Imaging Colorants (sponsor transition was due to an acquisition). I started to study my MBA in 2012 and in 2014 won a prestigious award for top student in advanced strategic management.

Main focuses were polymeric and hybrid organic-inorganic materials. During this time a large amount of IP was generated strategically to support this future potential business.
