Providing medical nutrition therapy to private clients within the United States, as well as kidney education in the Plant-Powered Kidneys course internationally!

Served patients with end-stage renal disease on dialysis with nutrition education and support. Focused on realistic nutrition-related goals driven by patient's internal motivation to impact each patient's comfort and satisfaction of the renal diet. Assisted physicians and team with bone-mineral medication management. Resulted in improved clinic metrics and, most importantly, better quality of life for clients.

Provided one-on-one nutritional counseling for those with diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, obesity, and other health conditions. Engaged with community via public speaking focused on nutrition and kidney health. Produced and oversaw community health screenings including; venue research and coordination, volunteer recruitment and training, event marketing, and educational outreach.

Oversee approximately 130 patients in in-center hemodialysis. Function as assessment manager, mineral-bone disease manager, and impact manager. Work closely with teammates, patients, and families to provide nutrition education and recommendations in regards to diet orders, fluid restrictions, dialysis treatments, and medications. Excel in creativity with creating unique visual aids for patients to further their understanding of the disease process and diet recommendations.

Performed nutritional assessments for admitted patients at acute-care hospital. Provided recommendations for diets, supplements, tube-feedings, and TPN orders. Provided education to patient and/or caregiver upon request of patient, family, or medical team. Position allowed for continuing application of knowledge in nutrition support.

Served as nutrition expert of an interdisciplinary healthcare team for an all-inclusive health care system(PACE program). Supervised diet technicians, performed tray audits, participated in case conferences with participants, families, and health care facilities throughout El Paso community. Met with interdisciplinary team weekly to re- view participant progress and generated care plans. Provided nutrition education to participants as well as Bienvivir employees. Trainer for new nutritionist/RDs. Assisted in design and orders regarding supplement formulary.

Managed two WIC clinics in Fort Bliss and downtown El Paso while supervising five to seven employees.Monitored patient flow of clinic and employee productivity. Conducted monthly staff meetings to review policies and procedures, safety topics, employee topics of interest, kudos/areas to improve, and customer service. Presented Child Nutrition presentation regarding new changes to school meal plans at January 2013 WIC City meeting. Director of the Obesity Prevention Mini-Grant 2013, titled "Breastfeeding Towards a Leaner Future." Interviewed live by KOLD News, January 2013.
