This included editing stories on Wordpress, self-publishing them on the homepage, and arranging them for a social media pages with millions of followers. We covered the 2020 US presidential election, updating the audience with constant breaking news articles.

This included interviews and attending press conferences with high profile public figures like Mayor De Blasio, Senator Chuck Schumer and Governor Andrew Cuomo. I worked on a tight deadline and managed high-stress situations while still delivering a story.

Performed as part of the grand opening cast in multiple roles including the superhero Robin as well as singing and playing guitar in the park. Included performing six improvisational shows a day that needed to be entertaining while still adhering to strict Emirati traditions and customs.

Performing musicals and plays to children that range from elementary to high school with the goal of education on a number of issues such as safe sex, puberty, bullying, gender roles and more. Included improvisation with large groups of children and being knowledgeable and factual about the material presented. Wrote informative scripts and songs while keeping the scientific facts engaging to a younger audience. Notable STAR relations include alumnus Kerry Washington, Keith Haring and 2016 Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

I wrote in depth stories about controversial issues on ASU’s campus. Topics included race relations, women’s health and nightlife. Two of my stories won awards for Best Online Feature Reporting in the Society of Professional Journalists regional awards and at the Arizona Press Club awards for best investigative student journalism.

Met with reporters to edit all arts and entertainment copy that would be published to statepress.com. This included traditional articles, interviews, local and national stories, thinkpieces and quizzes. Met with reporters to assist in developing their voices, improving writing structure and style and polishing their AP style skills. Worked under a strict deadline.

Wrote and edited approximately 20 stories during an eight-week summer internship. Attended daily editorial meetings while reporting to managing editor David Brinn. Assignments included covering protests related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, entertainment interviews with prominent figures such as Matisyahu and other newsworthy events that happened within Israel.
