Jeffrey began his position as Director of Development & Philanthropy at Inuit Tapiriit Katanami (ITK), Canada’s national advocacy organization for the Inuit populations. Inuit are located primarily in Inuvialuit (the northwestern part of the Northwest Territories), Nunavut (since 1999, Canada’s newest territory and one-fifth of Canada’s landmass), Nunavik (northern Quebec) and Nunatsiavut (Labrador). Jeffrey’s role is to develop a comprehensive development program for ITK, incorporating Major Gift Fundraising, Planned Giving, Annual Giving, Sponsorship enhancement, Marketing, enhanced development-sensitive Governance and Strategy as well as to assist in the liaison between the national office and the regions as well as between the public and private sectors.Jeffrey is a business lawyer, has held several senior advancement positions and has sat on multiple boards of directors, including, inter alia, Queen’s Alumni Association, Queen’s Principal’s Task Force on Alumni Relations, the Canadian Association of Security and Intelligence Studies, the Children’s Wish Foundation, and Child & Youth Friendly Ottawa, having established the latter with Ottawa charity legend and outstanding citizen, Mr. Max Keeping.Finally, Jeffrey has taught various law subjects at the university level, including constitutional law and administrative law, both of which will be particularly helpful.
