I work as a physician assistant at an urgent care facility within the South Shore Health organization. I provide care for the local adult and pediatric populations with the help of Epic EMR. I assess and treat acute illnesses and injuries. I perform minor procedures, such as incision and drainage, splinting, suturing among other procedures.

I work as a PA in the urgent care for Massachusetts General Hospital at the Chelsea location. This role allows me the opportunity to evaluate and treatment patients ranging from infants to geriatrics with the help of the Epic EMR. I work alongside a remarkable team of other PA's as well as physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and other supportive staff. Together we provide acute care services for the communities of the Boston area.This location in particular encompasses a large underserved population that unfortunately do not have primary care physicians or other providers to rely on and therefore rely on the urgent care for most of their services. We're more than happy and available to serve this vulnerable population to ensure they have access to at least some care.

I work alongside various medical staff including lab technicians, medical assistants, other physician assistants, and internal medicine physicians to provide urgent and primary care services to multiple neighborhoods of Boston. I help with educating patients on important aspects of preventative medicine including vaccinations, routine screenings for various cancers and infections, proper diet and lifestyle, and cardiovascular health among other topics. Via telemedicine and in-office visits, I assess, diagnose, and treat many urgent conditions including respiratory infections, musculoskeletal injuries, urinary infections, small lacerations, and abscesses, among other conditions.In this role, I've also had the wonderful opportunity to mentor physician assistant students during their family medicine and internal medicine rotations.

Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of guest lecturing at my alma mater, Bryant University. I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to revisit the program that taught me so much and to share my experience with students who are just entering the field. Since my first opportunity after graduating involved inpatient and outpatient endocrinology, I have lectured on important endocrine topics that can be observed in every corner of the medical fieldI hope to continue educating students whenever I get the chance as countless other mentors have guided me on my career journey.

PrimaCARE Endocrinology provides services for patients with a variety of endocrinology diseases, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, and adrenal disorders, among many others. The team also runs a men's health clinic, which manages testosterone disorders, and a clinic for patients who identify as transgender. Services are provided in the office setting and at Charlton Memorial Hospital and Saint Anne's Hospital. Via telemedicine and in-office visits, I evaluated patients with a myriad of conditions and discussed treatment strategies. I continually educated them on the importance of maintaining their medication regimens and diets to better control their diseases.I utilized laboratory analyses and imaging techniques to further assess patients and help them better understand their disease course. I frequently assessed patients' blood glucose records along with other laboratory results and discussed their progress with them. I monitored patients on therapy for diabetes, low testosterone, hyper and hypothyroidism, and gender dysphoria to ensure their therapy continued to be safe and effective.I utilized eClinicalworks, Epic, and Meditech to provide appropriate patient care.

I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Bryant University PA Program. This program involved 12 months of classroom education followed by 15 months of clinical rotations throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This opportunity allowed me to learn alongside renowned professionals to help me achieve my highest potential as a physician assistant. During my time in the program I was also a member of the PA Outreach Team. The goal of this team was to help with educating the community on the physician assistant role and the Bryant University PA Program. We served in the community at events around Providence, organized events with other medical programs in the area and attended meetings with those interested in becoming a physician assistant to discuss the role and our program. Throughout the program we frequently learned of the importance of ultrasound in diagnosing a variety of conditions. With many students wanting more experience with ultrasound, myself included, the program formed the point-of-care ultrasound club. We learned how to utilize ultrasound to better manage a wide array of patient conditions. This position allowed me to work alongside other researchers in the TIMI Study Group to support and monitor clinical sites involved with the DECLARE study. I monitored sites to make sure they were continuing to follow the protocol, continued to properly collect data and file regulatory documentation. I assisted clinical research staff with any questions they had about the protocol and proper procedures.

I worked on the West Campus as a Patient Care Technician in the acute surgical and trauma unit. I assisted medical staff with monitoring the condition of the patients and assessed vital signs with the help of various software programs and medical instruments. I coordinated patient's activities such as bathing and eating and conducted tests, such as EKG's, under the direction of a nurse. I maintained patient safety and assisted medical staff with ancillary tasks and facilitate patient care. I helped patients and families to make them as comfortable as possible.

I was responsible for transporting patients between hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other facilities for emergency and non-emergency care. I operated the ambulance and instrumentation and interacted with medical staff to provide the best patient care possible with the help of various software programs.

I was responsible for providing constant supervision of patients who are at risk of self harm and other injuries. I collaborated with medical staff to provide best patient care and maintain patient safety and reported patient activity to medical staff and security.

Worked under a project coordinator and project manager on Melanoma clinical trials that consisted of over a thousand patients. Managed the necessary paperwork and assisted researchers and medical staff in various settings with obtaining data. Maintained high level of data quality assurance. Organized and cleaned data with the help of the SOP and clinical programs, including Oracle Clinical. Analyzed medical reports to confirm patient's eligibility for clinical trial. Assisted with reporting adverse events using CTEP-AERS reporting system.

Temporary program position awarded to me allowing me to conduct clinical research in the emergency department. Following program protocol, I screened patients according to each study and then would interact with them to collect data corresponding to certain studies. Coordinated efforts with doctors, nurses and other hospital staff to collect data. Responsible for imputing data using various programs, such as Microsoft Excel. Had the opportunity to observe life in the emergency room and in health care industry.

Awarded competitive research position, working with Head of Saint Joseph’s Biology Department.Conceived, initiated and conducted research on effects of diseases on different corn species using different instrumentation and protocols. Assisted with preparation of experiment solutions and media. Performed analysis of data using multiple analytical programs, such as Microsoft Excel and SPSS. Provided opportunity to present results at the Saint Joseph’s Student Achievement Day and Summer Scholar’s Dinner.
