Responsible for the Project management of the Small Projects business demand. These projects often budget under $200k with an overall annual budget ~$2.5m and Jim is accountable for delivering ~6 per year across an extensive portfolio of applications and skill pool of technical resources. The projects can vary in demand from business requirements to IT for IT requirements. In the Project Management role Jim:• Champions and is Lead PM, in WONA, of Shell’s own Agile Delivery Methodology – EDGE.• Has contributed to the implementation of the Shell EDGE Certification program.• Leads, supports and champions the Trading IT and business in their transition to new project processes and methodologies• Is responsible for all detailed estimates and plans from Project Initiation (PI High Level scope and budget approval to charter) to support budget requests to delivery and management for assigned projects• Owns resources planning and levelling across all assigned projects from multiple different groups within Shell and external suppliers.• Maintains Budget and Delivery accountability across WONA O&S Small Projects annual demand plans• Reports directly to Programme Delivery Manager (PDM)

Have taken up the role of Deployment Manager (or Cutover Manager) on a large multi $million programme consisting of multiple concurrent project releases for Compliance and Regulatory implementations within the trading business. The role takes my skillset in Project Management to the next level by having to directly present and influence more senior stakeholders and managers, including external 3rd party vendors, as well as having to take on tasks that were not previously required in small projets work space. Some of the new activities include, but are not exhausted to: Implementation Boards, Cutover Simulations, Day In The Life, Procurement and Programme Pre-Deployment Reviews/Audits.
