I'm excited to focus my efforts in this new role with our global automotive OEM, Tier 1, Truck/Bus, Rail, and Aerospace customers. We want to inspire customers with innovative solutions that drive their success and CFT is empowering me to ensure our teams are getting these solutions to them. Collecting the right data saves companies money. While this statement can be true, this is also the reason why IoT (Internet of Things) is one of the most overhyped terms being used in manufacturing. In order for data to save money after the right data is collected, people must be able to understand it, people must be able to implement changes within an organization, and finally the results must benefit the company and its people.Industrial Revolution 4.0, Big Data, Predictive Analytics, Internet of Things; today, these buzz words either mean a lot or very little to manufacturing companies. A 2015 report from the Industrial Internet Insights stated 87% of manufacturers say big data analytics is among their top 3 priorities, however only 5% have implemented a big data strategy. To sum up what I’ve learned as a Product Manager; all great products are only possible because of great people. As a Product Manager, we are exposed and accountable for engineering, sales, manufacturing, marketing, and finance of our product portfolios. These departmental insights are key for us to work with and interact with these departments of our customers and our talented channel partners. At the end of the day, everything we do must bring value to our customers. If the products we develop do not add value to our customer’s processes, then we are wasting everyone’s time. Fortunately CFT and our channel partners focus on our customer’s finishing needs of today and tomorrow. We utilize our technical expertise combined with a full line of finishing, fluid handling and curing equipment to help our customers grow into the future with innovative solutions. I’m lucky to be a part of several successful product launches and be a part of our future offerings to help our customer’s become more efficient.

I had the pleasure to be accountable for the growth of the Protective Coatings and Military market segments and develop a long range plan to continue to grow revenue. I spent most of my time working at military bases, shipyards, or 150 feet in the air inside a coal plant stack spraying glass flake vinyl ester. Having the opportunity to work with our customers throughout a full day of work provided the ability to understand all the work involved when the spray gun isn’t being triggered. The interactions between the employees, their equipment, and their processes allowed our team to uncover their current needs and provide them insights into their unmet needs.

Reflecting back on this position, I was given the opportunity to dedicate most of my time visiting manufacturing plants to see how our equipment is used and how people interact with our technologies. I had the privilege to work with the brightest individuals in the Finishing Industry every day. What better job can you have where you visit manufacturing throughout the world of cars, trains, kitchen cabinets, power plants, musical instruments, airplanes, and medical devices just to name a few. Carlisle Fluid Technologies has provided me the resources to continue to make the Finishing Process, not just the equipment, more efficient and user friendly. Hopefully the work I am a part of will continue to make manufacturing plants around the world be more productive, efficient, and less wasteful.
