Data Manager, Probation Services Division
Throughout my career as the Probation Services Division (PSD) Data Manager at the AOIC, I have contributed to impacting divisional and organizational outcomes through effective organization, prioritization, and execution of key projects. In this role, I designed, developed, and maintained the PSD website. I compiled and reported on many activities throughout the year, but the most important was the annual report on individual department’s (probation, psc, pretrial, and detention) funding and expenditures. As an experienced researcher, I identified that the initial reports were not data driven. After identifying policies and legislation surrounding the reports, I restructured the annual reporting process analyzing and projecting future needs. In 2019 I helped secure a large grant to develop the new case-level data management system including proposal development, an RFP, budget design, contract negotiations, project management, and team leadership. I facilitated relationships between internal and external stakeholders, and regrouped efforts when new policies (e.g., SAFE-T act) and statewide initiatives are implemented. Although I am independently motivated, I thoroughly enjoy team efforts and collaborating productively within groups. As the Data Manager I had one direct report, three semi-direct reports, and twenty-one indirect reports. Additionally, I am knowledgeable in compliance and project management with proficiency in process improvement. In the past year I revised the policies and procedures for our data use agreement.
Gis Specialist I
Provided geospatial and data analysis support for an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) transition planning project. Utilizing Ultra-Light Inertial Profiler (ULIP) to accurately collect data for sidewalks and intersections, the team was able to determine the ADA compliance of pathways (such as sidewalks and intersections), and then provide clients with customized prioritization reports and cost estimates.

GIS Resources services included:* Access to the available GIS and Remote Sensing software and general GIS/GPS support.* Assistance in identifying spatial data sources for use in specific research or class projects.* Consultations on integrating GIS methods into research/coursework assignments or on a specific GIS task.* Generating files or images through scanning, digitizing, georeferencing and analysis of large format data/images provided by patrons, available online or from the Map Library. For instance, duties included independently managing and maintaining the full functionality of Morris Library’s GIS Resources lab including the maintenance of all hardware in the GIS lab, including two student computers, one staff computer, one HP Color LaserJet 9500, one HP ScanJet N6310 Document Scanner, one HP DesignJet T1100ps large format plotter, one HP DesignJet T1100 MFP large format scanner. In addition to the hardware I maintained all software in the GIS lab, including ArcGIS 10.2, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop as well as the spatial data CD collection for circulation through Morris Library. I also provided GIS-related technical guidance and assistance to patrons such as spatial data acquisition, database creation, cartography map creation, and issued digital and/or hard copies of existing maps to patrons. I crafted maps using Adobe Illustrator and ArcGIS for patrons if the map did not currently exist. I also created floor maps, website maps, and campus maps for Morris Library and other SIUC university departments. The map creation processes included the requirement to develop and maintain spatial databases, analysis of various spatial data, imagery analysis and interpretation, address geocoding, feature extraction, or other implementation related techniques.
