Partner and member of the firm’s Public Finance Practice Group, serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel and borrower's counsel for transactions involving affordable housing, single family housing, higher education, charter schools, industrial development, 501(c)(3)s and private activity bond infrastructure projects, and has led closings on over $1.5 billion in financings.

Summary: The Charter School Growth Fund ("CSGF") is a non-profit venture capital fund investing in the nation's highest performing charter school operators to dramatically expand their impact on low-income and minority students. CSGF provides operating and facility financing, business planning support, coaching and other resources that portfolio members require to build networks of high-performing schools.• Helped close on real estate loans to facilitate charter school facility transactions totaling more than $210+ million, including working with multiple creditors, Federal Tax Credits (NMTC and HTC), and Federal Bonds (QZAB and QSCB). • Prepared investment analyses, proposals, and recommendations for senior management and board of directors for new investments of more than $32 million and closed on new school startup funding of almost $7 million. • Conducted intensive due diligence on high-performing charter operators, including analysis and evaluation of financial models, budgets, and audits; academic achievement data; market dynamics; leadership teams; and business plans .• Served as the relationship manager for members of CSGF’s portfolio, working closely with management teams, attending board meetings, and acting as a strategic thought partner.

Summary: Taught Criminal Law, Pre-Calculus, Algebra II with integrated Trigonometry, Algebra I with integrated Geometry, and College-Prep to student body that was 90% low-income, 95% minority, and 12% Special Education. Performance: • Helped lead my school to the #1 high school math growth in the State of Colorado; students surpassed the Colorado growth median by 35%. • 1.99 & 1.7 years of growth on a nationally normed assessment in first and second year of teaching. Leadership:• Diversity and Inclusiveness Facilitator: Designed professional development for groups of 10 first and second year teachers to help them think critically about key knowledge, mindsets and skills teachers need to be effective, culturally responsive educators inside and out of their classroom. • Denver Teaching Fellows New Teacher Mentor: Mentored first year teacher on curriculum development and best-practices around classroom management, student engagement, and student data tracking.
