    NEARFORM CONSULTING Feb 2022 to October 2022- Sr. Program Manager & Agile Coach for NearForm - NearForm is a leading technology consulting firm with offices in Europe and the US, they hired me to lead and improve a software development program with four teams at Charles River Labs. Charles River Labs is a major US pharmaceutical company specializing in helping other companies bring new drugs to market.- Created and delivered a Software Engineering Improvement Program by focusing on Key Success Factors to increase their Software Engineering abilities: efficient time management to achieve maximum flow, simplified remote pair programming, open source champions, and custom technical workshops and talks.- Created and delivered a series of detailed metrics to measure the speed, efficiency, and reliability of the Apollo Software Engineering department, those included throughput, delivery ratio, cycle time, and cumulative flow diagrams; which we used to correct, and improve the quality, speed, and consistency of the engineering area.- Organized team-building events, performed one on one agile coaching, and managed our four teams.AT GRANATA CONSULTING- Launched our small consulting company, and led the creation of our responsive website, and brand identity, now online at Granata.cc.     ▪ Maximized team effectiveness of several software development teams by increasing their available time by eliminating, reducing or minimizing wasteful processes or meetings that were introduced via Scrum or SAFe, but were either not valuable, too long, or too frequent for the needs of the team given their own very particular Software Development Life Cycle. ▪ Worked with several software engineering teams, and Product Management to start a large initiative at Bloomberg: The Non-Securitized Program or Skyway. We unified all teams by using a mixture of Kanban and SAFe boards, processes and techniques. In total there were over 7 teams involved, and three were at the core of the project.▪ Increased the reliability, performance and effectiveness of several software development teams by leading them to measure and use their own capacity metrics for their software development plans and execution. We achieved this by using a variety of Agile and Lean Metrics, and by leading them during their agile planning.▪ Successfully dealt with performance and motivation issues inside some development teams. Common underlying reasons addressed were: micro-management, long and ineffective meetings, and developer boredom. In all cases developers were grateful for the outcome, and the situation improved.▪ Led from start to finish the establishment, and ongoing leadership of one Agile Release Train inside the Data Infrastructure Area at Bloomberg, which meant leading and training 6 teams, and their managers.▪ Delivered custom SAFe, Scrum and Kanban training to many areas at Bloomberg. This customized approach was fundamental to achieve success in agile adoption, by selecting the most valuable parts that benefited all teams.▪ Thanks to my strong technology background worked daily with engineering managers and developers on a variety of projects that use a gamut of technologies such as C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, Hadoop, Spark, HBase, and Kubernetes.

    ▪ Led an Agile Transformation effort at Viacom’s Network Operation Center. Key deliverables included an Enterprise Agile Transformation strategy, and a Roadmap for Agile Transformation. The plan was approved by the Senior VP of the MIT Department. Phase one focused on the Media Engineering Team and is detailed below.▪ Successfully performed the Agile Transformation of the Media Engineering team from Waterfall to Scrum. My previous experience working with Network Operations allowed me to customize the training to their needs. Media Engineering builds custom Broadcasting solutions to create new video channels, or improve existing ones.▪ As part of Media Engineering’s Agile Transformation, I trained the team in Scrum, taught them how to use Jira Agile and performed a full Scrum Simulation that properly prepared them for their first Scrum Sprint. I was congratulated by the Manager of the Team, and by several team members for my efforts.▪ In addition, I took over the Scrum Master role for the America’s Distribution Team. They are a fully remote team with locations in New York, Miami and Georgia. The hand-over has been successful, and the team has improved the reliability of their estimation, and reduced the time spent on planning, both welcome developments for all.▪ Finally, we worked on an Agile Roadmap for phase II of the Agile Transformation effort which would include the introduction of Enterprise Kanban for teams in North America and the UK.

    ▪ As a Senior Agile Project Manager, I led our entire IT Operations team to move our whole server infrastructure, software stack, applications and databases to our new Tier 3 data center Cervalis. This Lean Agile project involved creating and making sure a detailed Agile Roadmap for the move was followed, guiding several IT departments to achieve a successful move. I received congratulations from the CTO, and our Director of IT Infrastructure on the planning and agile execution of this project.▪ I introduced Kanban to our CTO, and the former Software Development Director. Explaining the advantages of Kanban to achieve Continuous Integration, Rapid Releases and better synergies between Development, QA and IT Operations. My leadership resulted in Teladoc’s adoption of Kanban for the Software Development Area, and also the adoption of DevOps practices that increased the efficiency and speed of our software releases, QA cycle and support cycles in Teladoc’s New York, and Dallas Offices.▪ As an Agile Project Manager, I led the delivery on time, and on budget of Teladoc’s full support of ICD 10 Diagnostic Codes for Teladoc’s doctors, including performing an API upgrade, and front-end updates to the web and mobile clients on iOS and Android. We met the compliance deadline ahead of time, by using Agile Estimation and a detailed Agile Roadmap. This project was also the first where we used Feature Toggles at Teladoc to ease the release of code ahead of the formal deadline.▪ By request of our CTO I led an IT wide initiative to leverage Amazon’s AWS Cloud at Teladoc. This effort included most of Teladoc’s technology areas such as: IT Operations, Software Development, Database Operations, and IT Security. I created an Agile Roadmap based on Amazon’s Cloud Adoption Framework to orchestrate and guide the efforts for all the teams using Kanban. After 3 months, the company had adopted AWS for two key initiatives: our video conference stack, and greenfield development.
