• Accountable for the overall planning and management of CGS’s financial reporting function including the department’s operating and maintenance budget and the capital budget. Financial reporting and financial analysis and oversight are an integral component of this position.• Responsible for financial reporting pertaining to transactions with Crown Corporations and Related Parties is an assurance and oversight function of the position and it includes regular monitoring of Headquarter and Regional Office transactions.• Provides financial analysis, evaluations & recommendations to support the Department’s business decisions (sensitivity analysis; business case analysis; lease vs. buy analysis etc);• Provides training and development in respect of year-end accounting procedures to the Department’s managers, directors, divisional staff and regional offices as necessary;• Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures to address risks identified by the Office of the Auditor General, GN Internal Audit and the Department of Finance. • Negotiates contracts with the auditing firms for program compliance and financial audits for all CGS’ Federally funded programs and overseeing annual program reporting and filing to Federal agencies; • Drafts Management Board Submissions for new program initiatives and development of related Program Policies;

• Negotiated with suppliers to improve extended payment terms, early pay discounts, growth incentive programs, product returns, new items, and annual product show participation.• Ensured customer needs were met through optimizing store layout, product pricing, budgeting competitive promotions and adjusting product structure• Managed inventory levels at $700 000 by using ratio analysis.• Conducted research and product trend analysis based on consumer needs and behaviour
