- Developed a novel 3D nanofabrication process using ultrasonic vibration based on Atomic Force Microscope (AFM); optimized parameters for the fabrication process based on design of experiments (DOE) using JMP
- Prototyped demonstrative 3D nanostructures on PMMA films to validate and evaluate the process through dimension and surface roughness control; characterized 3D patterns by AFM and SEM.
- Designed factorial experiments to statistically analyze the effect on actual depths of 3D nanostructures by two main factors: design depths and ultrasonic z-vibration; the interaction effect between z-vibration and.
- Calibrated the essential parameters including etching rate and selectivity using reactive ion etching (RIE) to transfer 3D nanostructures from PMMA onto silicon substrates
- Developed a novel effective cleaning method of debris that covering the 3D nanostructures after nanomachining by spin-coating a 10 nm water soluble sacrificial PVA layer on functional PMMA film
