  Established in 1981, TNDC continues to develop, own, manage and provide supportive services in 44 properties that offer deeply affordable housing for over 6,000 tenants, and to expand its work in community organizing, afterschool programming, and urban agriculture. In San Francisco, TNDC envisions diverse communities where people with low incomes can fulfill their potential and meet their basic needs. In the Tenderloin, TNDC stands as a catalyst for advancing community interests and a force for expanding the choices that enhance livability, such as housing, employment, education, food, cultural activities, and open spaces. As an Urban Agriculture Team, we address food access, health disparity, and sustainability through urban gardening, local fresh food distribution from the farm, and community gardening workshop. We provide fresh, nutritious, culturally appropriate fruits and vegetables grown in the community, free to TNDC tenants at their rooftop gardens and urban farm, and to the greater community. As an Urban Agriculture Coordinator, I am in charge of the garden design, implementation, daily maintenance , food productions, and tenant volunteers engagement of four to seven urban farm and rooftop gardens in the city.
