Project Background：After decades accumulation, the database of taobao.com booms at an unprecedented rate. Information about goods and customers are too big to use efficiently. The raw data containing information about merchandises and customers can hardly be used efficiently, so the database structure needs to be modified and developed. Taking this circumstance into consideration, Alibaba Group founded a special team, which includes 10 senior operations specialists and product managers selected from all over the Group, to solve Commodity Information Structure Reconstruction problem (aka Project 'DNA').2. Performance：Assigned as one of the core staffs, I was in charge of figuring out the business data flow and setting up relative regulations in cooperation with other sections and companies attached to TaoBao. This project reported directly to the CEO of Taobao.com and turned out to be a huge success with the implementation of migrating the historical data into a reconstructed database when it finished in mid 2014. And several famous 'Tao Brand' were highly accepted by consumers.2. Project Experience: In order to promote sales of high quality goods, I, as the chief project manager of this project, conducted the project called the 'Taobao's quality'. At the same time, I cooperated with multi-section of Alibaba Group to reconstruct Taobao's online trading model and adjusted the ranking policy. The implementation of this project brought about a considerable increase of the customer transaction per capita and a decrease of the refunding rate.
