MOTOROLA HOME BUSINESS, a division of Google (recently purchased by Arris Corp.), Horsham, PA, a $3 billion designer / manufacturer of Cable and Broadband products for the home and service providers. 1999-20132010-2013: Manager, VoIP Systems Integration & Test:• Managed Voice Capacity testing for head-end BSR 64000 CMTS IP/ DOCSIS cable routers and SurfBoard MTAs (voice-enabled cable modems).• Prior to centralization of capital expenditures, was responsible for capital budget of $1.1M. Projects were completed on plan and on budget. • Directed Voice-over-IP system-level capacity tests including System Stability, Call Completion Rate with maximum voice load, and Failover of system components. These were measured under various stresses, such as simultaneous saturated data loading of cable interfaces, SNMP polling, etc.• Supervised lab staff and reported / documented results of test cycles. • Administered 3 large-scale VoIP test systems through equipment and software upgrades, replacements, and additions. Directed modernizations and incremental improvements to these systems over many years, including increasing test capacity of one system by 2.5x in 2013.• Developed TCL / TK and Visual Basic programs and scripts to perform automated testing of BSR 64000 CMTS, accumulating results overnight.• Collaborated with software developers to bring resolutions to defects logged during the testing, resulting in minimal voice issues escaping to the field.
