In the research group of prof. P. Törmä, I did research in the field of ultracold quantum gases, both independently and in collaboration. In order to describe exotic phase transitions in Fermi mixtures in optical lattices, I performed both analytical and numerical calculations, where we have found that the presence of a lattice stabilizes such exotic phases. In different PhD and student projects, I was a co-supervisor and took part in planning future research. I presented the results of both my own and the group's research in scientific publications and at international conferences.

StoofThesis title: Supersolid phases in Mass Imbalanced Fermi Mixtures.In collaboration with my Phd supervisor, I investigated phase transitions in mass imbalanced Fermi mixtures. We found an exotic superfluid state to be present in the phase diagram of a 6Li-40K mixture at ultralow temperatures, a so-called supersolid phase. I presented these results both in scientific publications as well as in a broad audience article and at various international workshops and conferences. For a year, I organized a weekly seminar series at the institute, the Bose-Einstein-Condensate meetings. I was a teaching assistant at various Master’s courses and I co-supervised one Master's student.
