As part of the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA), collaborate with national and international NGOs in the development of sustainable policy relating to ocean conservation, specifically focusing on single use materials, and making said policy communicable to stakeholders and the public in both English and Spanish. Further responsibilities include:● Represent organization at the United Nations NY addressing Sustainability Development Goal 14 and Seafood Summit in Barcelona, Spain.● Development and dissemination of conservation-based curriculum for public events and k-12 educators; facilitate education interns in curriculum construction.

Construct and facilitate bilingual marine science and conservation curriculum tailored to students from Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties. Consult staff on curriculum development and facilitation using classroom and academic experience.

Assisted as a representative for World Oceans Day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, Ca. Informed public of the Nonprofit's work, as well as bill AB376, California's ban for possession and sale of shark fins.

Construction, sequencing, and facilitation of STEM curriculum and off-site experiences for secondary education students along the Monterey Peninsula and Salinas. Assisted in recruitment of RISE students to receive scholarships upon graduation of the program. Assisted students in college and career readiness activities, editing admission statements, completing applications, locating and applying for scholarships, and FAFSA completion.

Focus on marine invertebrate identification from transect data through the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Data collection and analysis for survey of North Central Coast marine ecology study of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). Acknowledged for work in Characterizing the Deep: Surveys in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary 2007-2010 (2010).

Assisted in the deployment of in situ respirometers for ocean acidification research, collected samples of deep sea Monterey Canyon invertebrates and core samples for lab processing, operated VARS and ARCNAV on R/V Point Lobos and R/V Western Flyer. Acknowledged by James Berry, et al. for work in Development of In Situ Respirometers for Ocean Acidification Studies (2009).

Performed educational activities with children ages 9-11, in small to large groups, including linking nature to art, as well as camping, hiking, and teaching them to interact without impact with the natural world.

Under mentorship of Adam Miller and Don Hirabayashi, assisted in actual in-class teaching, creation of lesson plans, tests, experiments, and peer tutoring, as needed, in eighth grade science (30+ hours weekly).

Conducted live animal presentations to general public, all ages, from small groups of 5 to full auditorium. Daily tasks included animal husbandry, running activities as a means of educating the public, and maintenance of the grounds.
